Microsoft's Windows Vista is now really popular though it does not provide mind-blowing features. It does have some cool applications that everyone would love to use. I have some of the best listed here and you will surely try if you are using Windows Vista.

Snipping Tool is the best application windows could have ever introduced and is good competitive tool against Apple! Snipping Tool can capture any part of your screen and save it as a picture. Even if you are playing video and want to get a screenshot at a particular point, you can do it!

On your Windows Vista comptuer, just click on Start, and on the Start Search area, type snip, you will see 'Snipping Tool' at the top of the Start Menu. Click on it. Then, select your screen area which you want to capture to make it a picture. It will then ask you to save it, automatically.




You can take screenshots in many ways like Free-form Snip, Rectangular Snip, Window Snip and Full-screen Snip! You can save a pic captured by Snipping Tool in JGP, PNG, GIF and HTML formats! See the video for a close look...

See Youtube videos without opening any browser on your computer. Just use Gadgetube from Windows Live Gallery. Go get GadgeTube, download it by clicking on the "Download" button and install it. That is it, you will be watching all your favorite youtube videos in a tiny gadget on your sidebar!

Just put your search query like "britney spears" in the place of "bike race" and you will be viewing the first video that is related to Britney Spears. Click on the arrows to go to the next and previous videos in the list. Itz really cool n lovely, n ur gonna feel gr8.

2. BBC News 24

Video feeds from the BBC News website. Updated every ten minutes directly from the BBC. Select your news feed from categories such as News, World, Entertainment, Science and Technology etc. Tooltips display the title, date, description, duration and bitrate.

The gadget must have focus before the tooltips are displayed; click on the gadget before you hover over a news item. Undocked view sports a larger playback size and further details about the news item as well as full play/pause and volume controls.

The number of news items is limited to the number given by the BBC News Feed. Older items are removed as newer items appear. BBC News 24

3. NanoTube

Closely similar to Gadgetube, even this gadget makes you feel great letting you to view your ultimate n favorite Youtube videos! The only difference being that the size of the video in the sidebar is a little increased compared to Gadgetube. It feels good. However, to search for videos, you need to go to the settings. You can select different categories and search items also. Still good. NanoTube

4. NASA TV

Direct live feed from NASA. All credit to NASA for the data and source material. Double click on it to view full screen.

NASA TV is interesting, not all the time, but when you are bored of all other things! :)

5. iSee

iSee lets you watch the last, latest YouTube and Google videos and also iTunes podcasts on your sidebar.

You can choose from channels like Comedy, Recently featured, Recently added, Popular etc.

Go see iSee! Good thing is that you will see the video in a bigger and better size than other ones mentioned above.

6. Vietnam TV

VietnamTV gadget allows you to watch lots of online TVs accross the world!

You can watch channels like for example in Vietnam: VTV, VTC
International TV channels: France24, RussiaToday, NASA TV, DW TV, SKY news, FOX8 and many more.
