Sony Cyber Shot Face Detection!

Sony Cameras wait for the baby to smile now a days; thanks to stunning technology and awesome innovation from Sony!

Sony has recently unveiled eight new cameras in its 2008 Cyber-series. Sony also has improved the smile shutter feature, which enables the camera to detect multiple smiles, and delay the shot until everyone is smiling. The smile shutter feature can be set to prioritize children or adults, and the new models with the feature will wait to snap a picture when a child in the frame smiles - even if it is just for a second.

Sony Cyber-Shot W120: A new and unbelievable feature of this digital camera is that of the Face Detection Technology. It is the addition of a child/adult priority mode set in Sony digital world. When set to child priority, the camera gives priority to focusing children's faces, while in adult priority mode, it locates and focuses adults' faces.

The cameras range in price from $150 to $400, and will be demonstrated at Photo Marketing Association (PMA) 2008, which begins January 31 in Las Vegas. The cameras, which include entry level models and more advanced designs, will begin shipping this spring.

One of the unique characteristics of several cameras is the new Face Detection Technology. The 8-megapixel Cyber-Shot DSC-H10, for example, can pick out up to eight faces per shot, and strive to make all the faces in focus. Sony will incorporate new image-finding technologies into its cameras and software as well. Some of the cameras will be able to identify images captured with the smile shutter feature, and group those images under "smile" for easier identification.

But if you still can´t get everyone to smile at once, that problem can be fixed with some improved editing technology. In playback mode, users can add smiles to people using the camera´s face detection and retouch menu.

Some of the cameras will also include an intelligent scene recognition feature that analyzes the shooting environment and applies the optimal scene mode for the shot. The intelligent scene mode can also improve image quality in low-light or backlit settings by taking a quick second shot after the shutter has been pressed.

The consumers need not be intelligent anymore! Even the most dumbest will feel great using these gadgets as they are far better than smartest of the humans... and make you feel good! :)

Why it's awesome: These babies might be kind of hard to get here in the US, but crafty importers will be impressed with the Airboards luxurious ride. You don't have to worry about pooping it because of its durable nylon coating, which is great unless you try using it "nude." :)

Gestures to control JVC's TV and Sony Z555 Mobile Phone

JVC´s "Snap & Gesture" TV
The days and nights of pressing tangible buttons to operate your favorite channels on TVs and cell phones are now changed to just waving clapping, and pointing your hands! It is absolutely amazing!

With JVC´s "Snap & Gesture" TV technology, users can communicate with their gadgets using a pre-programmed "sign language" and so is Sony Ericsson's Z555 gesture phone.

JVC´s "Snap & Gesture" TV, which ensures that you´ll never think about the remote again, is a boon. The TV is still in the demo stage though. However, it has been in the brains of many before it is launched and contains a microphone to detect clapping, a video camera to recognize finger movements, and a set of sensors that can help the system memorize customized gestures.

To control the TV:

User claps their hands three times to make a menu with icons appear. The user can choose an icon by placing their fingertip on it, which is verified by an image of the user´s hand on the screen, as tracked by the camera. By hooking their finger, the user "clicks" to select an icon. On the menu screen, users can select channels, manage the set-up, and do everything a remote control can do using hand waves, claps or finger snaps.

The system can also be programmed so that specific
clapping patterns result in going to specific channels (for example, two claps means switch to Comedy Central).

The release date for the "Snap & Gesture" TV is not out yet. However, people are already keeping their fingers crossed waiting for it!

Sony´s Z555 allows cell phone users to avoid fiddling with their phones when trying to turn off the ring of an incoming call or alarm. Instead of picking it up and searching for the silent button, users can mute the phone by waving a hand back and forth over the phone thanks to an embedded camera.

The Z555 features a diamond design on its black cover and is available in select markets this spring, but the price is still to be determined.

It's mesmerizing, after months of rumors and tantalizing leaks, Tata Motors has finally unveiled the Tata Nano on January 11, 2008 at the Autoexpo. In India, we call it 'The People's Car.' In everyone's view Ratan Tata and the People's car are legendary!

Its priced at just Rs. 1,00,000! That is only around $2,500!

As expected, the Tata car will change the face of not only the Indian car market, but the global auto industry. It's a four door, five seat vehicle, powered by a 30 HP Bosch 624 cc four stroke engine mounted out back and mated to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

This makes the Nano the first time a 2-cylinder gasoline engine will be used in a car with a single balancer shaft. The Nano's also expected to get 54 US miles per gallon.

They are awesome. This pair of motorized shoes helps to get you tranported within a short distance and in an efficient manner.

They are lovely to look at and are named as iShoes. It has a rather limited range of only three miles, so that would be good to get you from your office to a subway station where you can easily slip it off and pack it into your bag.

A pair weighs 5.3kg and has a top speed of 13.5mph. It takes roughly 2 hours for a full charge, but I think the $499 price tag is a wee bit high for a little additional convenience.

Best to literally go the additional mile on bus no. 11 (your own two legs) as you will not only burn more calories but save some serious dough in the process.

- Upload music files to Xdrive, and use Xdrive's features to create a playlist.
- Download your playlist to your local computer and use the palmOne Quick Install software to transfer the playlist file to your phone.
- Locate the playlist on your phone using your music player, and hit play--the music will stream.

Japan's Twendy-One humanoid Robot

Yes, 'Twendy-One' is a name of a new humanoid robot just out of Japan! His claim to fame is his gentle touch rather than a hard one being a robot! Thanks to the 241 pressure-sensors in each hand, which allow him to grip bread without breaking it. Isn't that great?

Unbelievabley, this is something that every one have been waiting for; a bread gripping robot! This cool rascal stands five-feet tall, and the team responsible for his development hopes to get his price down to $200,000 by 2010, hopefully.

He was designed to serve breakfast, but so far only has a 15 minute battery life. This makes no sense, I mean it, really! However, it is a piece of innovation!

Who needs a warm breakfast on the table when you can have a robot that puts bread in the toaster, turns on the stove, powers down due to a low battery, then lets your house burn to the ground?
